Literature Text

It is almost noon.  I am lying in a patch of emerald grass, surrounded by trees that look like they could reach the heavens.  I don't know exactly where I am, but in this moment, that doesn't matter.
There is no one else here but I am not alone. The forest's animals keep me company.  Compared to past experiences, they are the best company I've had in a long while.
In the distance I can hear the faint sounds of deer running.  The sounds of their hooves hitting the ground seem to be in perfect rhythm.  Then there are the branches brushing together, their leaves rustling against one another, creating intricate patterns that no man could ever replicate.
And above I can see the birds hiding in the treetops, and they have just begun to sing.  I smile.  The birds are the most important part of the forest's symphony, for they carry the melody.  Their beautiful sounds are like a song that I never want to stop listening too.
I close my eyes.  The grass feels so good against my skin, much better than the dirt and clay I'm so accustomed to.
I then feel a feeling I've never felt before.  I feel perfectly at home here.  I feel like this is where I belong.  I feel. . .free.
But no.
I am not free.
And this is just a fantasy.
I am a slave, alone and unwanted, and this is the life I am bound to lead.
I am Niabi, and I am like a bird with a broken wing, chained to a place where I do not belong.
For :iconreloquent: :la:
This is just a short piece I wrote on her character Niabi [link]
Niabi is the main character of her story The Forest Maker [link] , which is really great! If you have the time, you should definetly check it out :aww:

Niabi and The Forest Maker both belong to :iconreloquent:

I'm sorry it's so short Holly :ohnoes: If there's anything you want me to change, please tell me!
